The Big Dog Walk Series Goes To Glasgow!

On 22nd August 2021 the Big Dog Walk arrives in Glasgow! This will be the first Big Dog Walk event to take place in Scotland. This event provides a unique opportunity for dog owners and families to walk through the stunning Pollok Country Park together.

Pick Your Walk Distance

Owners will be able to choose between 2k, 5k and 10k routes. Walk times are staggered to enable social distancing and the comfort and safety of those taking part.

Acclimatise Your New Pup

A new feature of this year’s Big Dog Walks are the Puppy’s First Socialisation Walk at each venue. This is an opportunity to take your new puppy at an earlier time to acclimatise them. It also helps them get used to interacting with other dogs. The socialisation walks take place at 10am and are the shorter option of 2k for the little legged additions to the family.

Beat The Rush

If your dog gets anxious in crowds there is also the option of the “Beat The Rush” walk for dogs who prefer their own space. Here, you and your dog can enjoy the park at your own pace on the first stroll of the day.

Come and Play!

These events unite dog lovers and dogs while encouraging social interaction and exercise. Hundreds of pooches and their owners will be in attendance and the routes include drink and snack pit stops as well as photo points to get some great snaps of your dog in this picturesque location. There is even a festival village to enjoy after the walk which will feature shopping stalls, expert advice, a dog show and lots of tasty food and drink.

A Good Cause

Dogs Trust is the Official Charity Partner of this event. They will be present on 22nd August to invite attending pooches to take part in their fun Temptation Alley challenge. Participants can also raise more money for any charity of their choice upon signing up.
