I’m always on the lookout for treats that feel like a genuine step up in quality – something I’m happy to keep in the cupboard and recommend without hesitation. These new grain free treats from Naturo tick that box.
Simple ingredients. High meat content. No unnecessary fillers. Just proper, protein-led recipes that feel thoughtfully made.
First Impressions
The whole range is grain free and clearly labelled, which I always appreciate. I like knowing exactly what I’m giving the dogs, and I’m sure most dog owners feel the same.
The packaging feels great quality before you even open it. It’s clean and premium, and the colours make it really easy to distinguish between the different treats. It’s also resealable and, importantly, actually easy to open, which sounds small but some others on the market really aren’t.
The Official Taste Test
Oscar, Henry and Archie were more than happy to get involved. At 8 and 10, Oscar and Henry are very much in their senior era, while Archie at 11 months is still firmly in his puppy phase, so it felt like a pretty good cross-section for testing the range.
Here’s what they tried and what they thought.
Pork & Apple Sausage Reward Treats
Made with pork and apple, these are soft, meaty sausages designed as a high-value reward. Honestly, they look like cocktail sausages – as in the human type. I very nearly tried a bite!
I nearly lost my fingers handing these out. The excitement level was ridiculous, which in dog terms is about the highest praise possible. They’re soft, meaty and clearly very high value. These are the treats you bring out when you really need their full attention.
Turkey & Cranberry Meaty Sticks
These turkey based sticks include cranberry and are designed as a grain free, protein-led reward.
These went down just as well, but they lasted a little longer than the sausages. They feel like a great everyday high-value treat, and they’re easy to break into smaller pieces if you want to make them last longer or use them little and often.
They’re also ideal for keeping in your pocket on a walk for quick rewards, as they don’t have a strong smell.
Chicken Nibbles Training Treats
These are small, bite-sized training treats made with chicken and created specifically for regular rewarding.
I love these. They’re perfectly sized for consistent training and don’t feel too heavy, which is important when you’re using quite a few in one session.
Those early training months involve a lot of rewarding, so having something appropriately sized and tailored to that stage makes a real difference – especially when you’re working with an enthusiastic 11-month-old.
Salmon Soft Bites for Seniors
Made with salmon and enriched with ingredients to support joint health, including glucosamine, these feel like a really considered addition to the range. They’re slightly bigger than the training treats but still a very manageable, soft bite size.
They’re ideal for my two senior boys, giving them something a little different while also supporting them at this stage of life.
They still get just as excited, but I feel reassured knowing there’s some functional benefit behind the treat, which as owners is half the battle.
Why I Rate Them
What stands out most is that these treats feel consistent. They align with everything I look for in dog food and treats:
Grain free
High meat content
Suitable for different life stages
Clear ingredient lists
Actually exciting for dogs
They passed the three-pug test very convincingly. If you’d like to try them, you can shop the range directly via Naturo’s website and use my code DF20 to save 20% site wide.
Naturo are one of our headline sponsors, which means they support this platform and what we’re building. But as always, our opinions are honest. If something isn’t good enough, I simply won’t recommend it. These are very much recommend-worthy.
