Sunday lunch just got even better for London dogs, as Tom Kerridge’s The Chalk Freehouse launches a roast dinner created especially for four-legged guests.
From Sunday 30th August, dogs joining their humans for Sunday lunch at the Chelsea gastropub will be treated to The Dog’s Dinner – their very own Sunday roast. And the best bit… It’s completely free!
A proper Sunday roast for dogs
The new canine menu has been created to give dogs their own version of one of Britain’s best-loved weekend traditions. The Dog’s Dinner combines a freshly prepared pork-based dish with crushed carrot, roast potatoes and even a Yorkshire pudding. These dog friendly roast dinners will be available in small and large portions.
On the menu, you’ll find it listed as a “Roast Dinner with all the Trimmings” – although, fittingly, it’s description is written in ‘dog’ first, with plenty of woofs and barks before the English translation.
The complimentary roast will be available to dogs accompanying their owners, dining from The Chalk Freehouse’s Sunday menu.
A dog friendly pub in Chelsea
The Chalk Freehouse is already dog friendly, welcoming four-legged visitors to join their humans for food and drinks throughout the week. The new Sunday offering takes that one step further by giving dogs something of their own to tuck into while everyone else enjoys lunch.
Head Chef Tom De Keyser said:
“Sunday lunch is about bringing everyone together, and for many of our guests, that includes their dog. They have always been welcomed at The Chalk Freehouse, so it felt right to give them a roast of their own. We wanted The Dog’s Dinner to have all the fun and theatre of a proper Chalk Freehouse Sunday roast, right down to the roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. We are looking forward to seeing what London’s four-legged diners make of it – I suspect we will be seeing most plates licked clean!”
Dogs visiting outside of Sundays haven’t been forgotten either, with complimentary dog treats available for canine customers throughout the week.
What’s on the menu for humans?
Of course, you’ll probably want a Sunday roast of your own. The Chalk Freehouse’s current Sunday menu includes 30-day dry-aged ribeye of beef, half Devonshire White chicken and loin chop of Blythburgh pork, alongside a vegetable ragu with braised Portobello mushroom. Roasts are served with roast potatoes, crushed carrot and a stuffed Yorkshire pudding.
The kitchen is headed up by Tom De Keyser, who previously led the kitchens at Tom Kerridge’s two-Michelin-starred The Hand & Flowers and Michelin-starred The Coach.
When can dogs get their free Sunday roast?
The Dog’s Dinner launches on Sunday 30th August 2026 and will be available every Sunday for a limited period throughout autumn. The dog roast is complimentary for dogs accompanying guests dining from the Sunday menu.
