September might just be one of the best months of the year for getting out and about with your dog. Summer isn’t quite over, autumn is starting to creep in, and the events calendar is packed with things to do across the UK.
We’ve rounded up 45 dog friendly events happening this September, from dedicated dog festivals to food festivals, country shows, heritage events, markets, stargazing and so much more. And importantly, these aren’t all events for dogs. They’re events you can enjoy with your dog, which means there’s hopefully something here for every kind of day out.

Looking for dog friendly events in the South East this September? From swimming with your dog on the Sussex coast to wine tasting in London and one of the UK’s biggest boat shows in Southampton, there are plenty of unusual dog friendly days out to choose from this month.
Dogtember at Saltdean Lido – Starting 12th September
Summer swimming season might be coming to an end, but now it’s the dogs’ turn. Dogtember at Saltdean Lido gives dogs the chance to take a dip in the iconic outdoor pool, making this a particularly fun way to round off the summer. It starts on 12th September and runs for four consecutive weekends.
Lymington Sea Water Baths Charity Swimathon – 13th September
Another opportunity to make a splash this September, with dogs able to get involved in the Charity Swimathon at Lymington Sea Water Baths.
Southampton International Boat Show – 18th-27th September
One you might not immediately think of as a dog friendly day out. Head to Southampton’s waterfront for one of the UK’s biggest boating events, with everything from sailing boats and watersports to marine brands and waterfront entertainment.
Paws & Pours at Humble Grape – 19th September
Wine tasting, but make it dog friendly. Paws & Pours brings together dogs, their humans and wine for a social at Humble Grape in London.
Museum of Illusions London Dog Days – 13th & 27th September
Fancy something completely different? The Museum of Illusions in London is opening its doors to four-legged visitors on selected dates this September, so you can explore its mind-bending installations with your dog.
Dog friendly events in the South West
There are plenty of dog friendly events in the South West this September, whether you’re looking for something to do in Devon, Somerset or Gloucestershire. Think heritage days, shopping with your dog, cider, flea markets and even a proper pooch party.
Heritage Open Days at Greenway – 12th-13th September
Explore Greenway as part of Heritage Open Days. The former holiday home of Agatha Christie sits in a beautiful spot on the River Dart and makes for a lovely early-autumn day out.
Pawsome Pooch at Clarks Village – 12th-13th September
Shopping with your dog? Pawsome Pooch returns to Clarks Village in Somerset for a weekend dedicated to its four-legged visitors.
Dogs of Dunkertons – 13th September

Pheasant Inn Pooch Party – 19th September
A proper pooch party, with pup cups, a ball pit, agility, stalls, a BBQ and even a dedicated dog menu.
The Giant Shepton Flea Market – 27th September
If you love hunting for vintage finds and antiques, take your dog along for a rummage at the Giant Shepton Flea Market in Somerset.
Dog friendly events in the Midlands
Looking for things to do with your dog in the Midlands this September? There’s a great mix of dog festivals, camping, creative events and big seasonal days out taking place across Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Worcestershire.
The Big Bark – 5th-6th September
The Big Bark comes to Towcester Racecourse for two days of dog friendly fun, shopping and activities.

Malvern Autumn Show – Dog Day – 27th September
The Malvern Autumn Show is one of the region’s big seasonal events, and Sunday is Dog Day, meaning your four-legged family member can come along too.
Dog friendly events in the East of England
From classic cars in Norfolk to a country fair at Sandringham, there’s plenty happening for dogs and their owners across the East of England this September. We’ve also found dedicated dog events and a wonderfully autumnal day out in Suffolk.

Walkies at RHS Garden Bridgewater – 29th September
RHS Garden Bridgewater usually has restrictions on four-legged visitors, but its special Walkies events allow you to explore the beautiful gardens with your dog.
Dog friendly events in the North East
There are some brilliantly varied dog friendly events in the North East this September, from a full music festival in Northumberland to forest celebrations, antiques, a day at Raby Castle and even pints with your pooch in Newcastle.
