Epicure Coffee Co Cafe, based in Pontypool Active Living Centre, has gone through a proper glow-up, unveiling a woof-tastically refurbished space that has our tails wagging in excitement. Previously known as Pontypool ALC Café, this pup-friendly hotspot is turning a new leaf—or should we say paw? Not only have they zhuzhed up the joint, but they’ve also ramped up their dog-loving credentials in partnership with yours truly, Dog Furiendly!

Woof and Walk: A Community Event Not to Miss

To bark in their new chapter, Epicure Coffee Co Cafe is joining paws with us for a FREE group dog walk on Saturday, 21st October at 1:30 pm.

But oh, it’s so much more than just a walk; it’s basically a doggo’s dream day out! After a sniff-tastic 45-minute stroll around Pontypool Park, you’ll be led to a ‘Yappy Hour’—think special deals on cakes and hot drinks that both you and your pooch can enjoy. And that’s not all! Each pup-ticipant will get a free goody bag and some lip-smacking homemade dog biscuits.

To nab a spot and get your paws on some freebies, make sure to book your free tickets via this link.

Wait, I’m Not From Pontypool?

Now you might be thinking, “Pontypool, that’s a bit of a trek”, but you’re in for a treat! This group dog walk is part of our “Lead the Way” scheme, run with our besties at Burns Pet Nutrition. The initiative is all about orchestrating communal dog walks in various UK locations. Whether you’re in Pontypool, Portsmouth, or Perth, it’s a clarion call to build canine-community events everywhere! Oh and guess what? Everyone who takes part will get some treats from Burns.

Spaces For Everyone

Louise Owens, the powerhouse behind Just Perfect Catering (and Epicure Coffee Co’s new dog-friendly space), has always had a penchant for creating dog-friendly spaces. As a dog owner herself to Jack Russell Benji, she knows how difficult it can be to find welcoming venues for pups. She said; “We LOVE creating dog friendly spaces across Wales. Wherever we operate, we infuse a culture of dog love and community. It’s all about creating havens for humans and hounds alike.”

Dog Furiendly’s very own Adele Pember chimed in too: “The entire reason Dog Furiendly exists is to tackle the shortage of dog friendly spots. What started as a local quest has snowballed into a national platform. Our ‘Lead the Way’ scheme is for every UK dog owner who wants to explore their local areas and feel part of a larger community.”
