The Search Is On For Britain’s Pub Loving Dogs!

We are on the look out for pub dogs of all shapes and sizes, with our NEW campaigns #pubsbestfriend.

To celebrate the upcoming event Dogstival, we’re running a joint photography project, inviting people around the UK to submit photos of their dogs visiting pubs.

The project, called “Pubs Best Friend” is a celebration of dog friendly pubs. Not to mention, the pooches and owners that frequent them. We’re asking our followers for photos and stories of dogs visiting Britain’s most treasured institution, the pub.

We want to see pictures of your pooches whether they are casual visitors, regulars or pub resident!

Dog owners can share photos and stories of their dog at the pub using #pubsbestfriend. We will be displaying the photos at Dogstival. Shortlisted winners will feature in our own dog friendly pub, the Muddy Paws Tavern.

We will crown one pub loving pup the UK’s Top Pub Dog on National Dog Friendly Day on 29th May. We hope that this project will celebrate our love of dogs while giving a boost to the hospitality industry.

Dogstival organiser Richard Nowell said;

“Dogstival is delighted to be partnering with Dog Furiendly for our Jubilee celebrations. The Muddy Paws Tavern will be the perfect place for dogs and owners to meet up. There will be great entertainment all weekend.”

He continued, “the Pubs Best Friend competition will celebrate everything we love about the great British pub. We’re looking forward to all the photo’s on display, it will give things a real atmosphere.”

“During the event, we will be celebrating what it means to be British. What’s more British than combining our love of dogs, with our love of the pub. Dogstival truly encapsulates what it means to cherish moments with your dog. It’s a fitting place for the pub photos to be displayed.”

Adele Pember, founder of Dog Furiendly said: “Canine visitors are becoming an asset to pubs across the country, particularly throughout the recovery of the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe that man’s best friend has been key to saving many pubs after the number of dog owners increased to 12.5 million this year.”

“The life of a dog is way too short, and many dogs will spend it waiting for their human to come home from work or the pub. Thankfully, the number of dog friendly places continues to be on the rise and more dog owners are including them in their visits to the pub.”

Dogstival, dubbed “Glastobury for dogs” will take place on 4th and 5th June. The festival is taking place in the iconic Broadlands Estate in Romsey. Many people will be celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend with a street party. However dog lovers will be celebrating with their pooches in Romsey!

Dogstival will take place in the iconic Broadlands Estate where Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip spent their honeymoon. Thousands of dog owners and their furry companions will be present during the fun filled weekend.

Submit your images via social media #pubsbestfriend. The closing date for submissions is the 23rd May 2022.
