Boggle Hole Beach – One of North Yorkshire’s Hidden Gems

Our Explorers Skye and Luna wanted to share North Yorkshire’s best-kept secret with you – Boggle Hole Beach. This dog friendly beach is the perfect place to sniff out an adventure.

Home of the Boggle Monster

This beach is named after the story of the ‘Boggle Monster’ that is said to live in the cave at the opening of the cove that leads on to the beach.

Plenty to Explore

Skye and Luna particularly loved playing chase up and down the sandy flats as well as taking in plenty of sniffs and exploring the base of the cliffs and the rock pools. The beach itself stretches from Robin Hoods Bay right up to cliffs at the opposite end which is great of you fancy a lovely couple of hours strolling along the shoreline and the variety of views make the perfect backdrop for a photo!

Boggle Hole is tucked a little ways away from main roads so we kept a close eye on signs to avoid getting lost. There is a car park at the top of a slight hill only a 5-10 minute walk from the beach which offers free parking. Just up from the beach is a Youth Hostel and Cafe, on our visit the cafe was only open for takeaway due to COVID but there is outdoor seating perfect for somewhere to have a snack or cuppa.

Make sure to plan on time to visit Boggle as the tide comes in VERY quickly, overall we really enjoyed our first time there and we will definitely go again and hopefully do a bit more exploring!
