Our Favourite Dog Festival Is Back With A Jubilee Special

We don’t use the word ‘favourite’ very often, but if you’ve ever been to Dogstival, you’ll understand why we’ve coined this festival as our favourite. It’s a festival pouring with an immense amount of passion and love for dogs. In fact, many dog owners travel for miles (even from Scotland) just to be a part of the action!

Established by Domine and Richard Nowell, this tail-wagging event has been running annually for four years, entertaining thousands of dogs and their humans. Each event providing an abundance of experiences for you and your dog to enjoy together. We’ve been a part of every single event and time after time, have gone away with a suitcase of special memories.

Dogstival returns this year for a special Jubilee celebration on the 4th and 5th of June. This year taking place in Broadlands Estate in Romsey. It seems only fitting that Dogstival takes place on the Jubilee weekend. In fact, it’s taking place in the exact same place where Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip spent their honeymoon. We all know how important Dogs have been to Her Majesty, so it’s the perfect way to celebrate our nation of dog lovers.

What’s On At Dogstival?

Dogstival gets bigger and better every year, this year in particular it has outdone itself.

Expect world class dog displays, plenty of activities to get involved with and lots of entertainment to enjoy with your pooch. If your furry best friend is a dare-dog they’ll love taking part in agility, flyball, hoopers and canicross.

They can also test out their barkour skills in the urban playground or try their paws at the Gundog Village. Every consideration has been taken for the attending dogs. That’s why there’s a 12m dog diving pool to cool off in if your pooch gets warm.

Animal Friends will be hosting a fun dog show that you can enter your pooch in. The show is open to everyone and all proceeds will go to charity. Proceeds are shared between Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, Pets as Therapy and Streetvet. Every participant will also receive a rosette.

There’ll also be behavioural experts, tips from top vets and the chance to win rosettes in a fun dog show. With so much to enjoy during this fun weekend you won’t want to miss a single minute.

You can also join the giant Jubilee Tea Pawty that will be taking place. Drop in and say hi to the Queen at Barkingham Palace and tuck into some Coronation Chicken.

Just because it’s the perfect day out for dogs doesn’t mean that humans will be neglected. Live music, street performers and new at Dogstival this year, canine comedy with the Barking Mad team.

There is also a main area hosted by Holburne Holidays where many events will take place.

Dogstival is the perfect weekend whether you’re a dog or just a dog-lover!

The Muddy Paws Tavern

Come and say hello to us at our Muddy Paws Tavern. The pub is an integral part of British life. We thought it would be the perfect place to enjoy some dog football and breed meets.

We have a great itinerary including a reading from Lottie Gross, author of Dog Friendly Weekends and stand-up comedy from Dan The Hat.

You can visit our tail wagging tent to connect with other dog owners and let your pooch make new friends. Meet some of your favourite pooches from social media, pull a pint of dog beer from our tap and take part in games like our pup quiz or barking bingo.

You might also see Benji. Benji is an adorable pooch who recently won our search for Britains best pub dog. He won the title of pubs best friend in the process and will be welcomed like a King to the Tavern.

Most excitingly, head over to the Tavern to enter our competition to be in with the chance of winning a years worth of fantastic dog friendly holidays.

At Dog Furiendly we’re all about community. We were so keen to host the Muddy Paws Tavern because it’s a great opportunity to bring the people and pooches together. We’ll see you there!
