Is B&M Bargains Dog Friendly?

B&M Bargains is a popular UK discount retailer known for its wide range of affordable products, including a pawsome selection of pet supplies. But for dog owners wondering “Is B&M Bargains dog friendly?”, the answer might be disappointing.

In short, no – B&M Bargains is not dog-friendly. The store has a clear policy that prohibits dogs from entering, with the exception of assistance dogs. This policy is consistently enforced across their UK locations. There have even been reports of furry customers being asked to leave! This restriction applies regardless of the dog’s size or behaviour, and even if the dog is being carried in a bag or arms. While this may be disappointing for dog owners, it’s important to respect store policies to ensure a safe and comfortable shopping environment for all customers.

B&M’s Pet Range

Despite the in-store pet policy, B&M Bargains offers a tail-waggingly good range of pet products at budget-friendly prices. Their pet section is packed with essentials such as food, treats, toys, beds, grooming supplies, and accessories. They also host seasonal promotions, serving up paw-some deals on everything your four-legged friend could need (and even some things that they don’t need)!

So, while you can’t bring your dog along for the shopping trip, you can still sniff out plenty of goodies to spoil your pooch.

Our Research

I went into our local B&M Bargains, along with my Pug, Oscar. We were browsing the pet aisle and a member of staff came over to make us aware that they aren’t dog-friendly. I asked if it was a Nationwide rule and she did confirm that it is. The lovely member of staff did allow us to stay on that occasion, but it felt awkward being somewhere we weren’t welcomed, so we left.

Alternatives for Dog-friendly Shopping

If you’re looking to shop with your canine companion, consider visiting stores that are known to be dog-friendly. Some UK retailers that welcome dogs include:

My advice would be to always check with individual stores beforehand, as policies can vary by location and management, for all of these stores… Whether they claim to be a dog-friendly retailer or not. I suspect that certain B&M stores across the UK might allow dogs, especially if the Manager has a soft spot for dogs… But the general rule is that B&M is NOT dog-friendly!

I’d love to hear from you – has anyone found a B&M Bargains store across the UK that allows dogs?
