Allt Y Coed: Dog Friendly Camping In Pembrokeshire

Hello! I’m Duke, an energetic cockapoo pup with a big heart and a taste for adventure. I love making new friends and sniffing out dog friendly places. We love to explore all dog-friendly nooks and crannies. We recently visited Allt Y Coed Campsite in Pembrokeshire and boy oh boy is it top-dog.

Is Allt Y Coed Dog-Friendly?

Yes, absolutely! Allt Y Coed is not just dog friendly; it’s a dog’s dream come true in the heart of Pembrokeshire. The campsite’s layout, the facilities, and the welcoming attitude of both the staff and the resident animals make it a pawfect place for dogs and their families to stay.

Just call me Houdini

Our journey to Allt Y Coed was a car drive that lasted forever. I thought we were just going on a day out, I didn’t know it was the start of our very first family holiday. After a pit stop where I attempted a daring escape to reunite with mum (earning me the nickname Houdini), my excitement for exploring Allt Y Coed in Pembrokeshire grew.

Arriving at Allt Y Coed Campsite

We were welcomed at Allt Y Coed in Pembrokeshire by Ally Wally, the resident Schnauzer. He showed us to our vast yurt, really setting the scene for our dog friendly adventure. It truly was a dog paradise and haven for their humans too. This campsite was within a working farm, where we got endless excitement with sheep, goats, horses, and even cats to meet! Of course, the authentic camping experience was greatly enhanced by the farmer’s generosity in delivering wood to our campfire on his quad bike.

Snuggling in the moonlight

Our nights were magical. Mum and dad were super interested in toasting marshmallows over the campfire while we snuggled under blankets, covered in moonlight. The visit of our Auntie and Uncle brought more delight with lots of cuddles, not to speak of the mum’s excitement over some mysterious Gin.

Walkies on the beach!

Walks along the coastal path from the gate at Allt Y Coed continued our adventures, which lead to breathtaking views and memorable moments on Poppit Sands. This dog friendly beach was the perfect place for my first off-lead run while chasing waves with Molly.

The Dog Bar and Beachside Fun

One of the highlights of visiting was The Ferry Inn in St Dogmaels, complete with its warm and friendly atmosphere, and dedicated Dog Bar just for us to enjoy. Being able to sit in their beautiful riverside beer garden was a treat for all of us. The next few days were full of frolicking on the beach, indulging in cafe treats, and relishing in the simple delights of roaming free off-lead, all wrapped up in the stunning beauty of Pembrokeshire.
